Discover the geological wonders of Northern Samar! The newly unveiled “Biri Rocks!!!” exhibit at the NIGS-UPGAA Geology Museum showcases the unique rocks of Northern Samar, which are rarely found anywhere else in the Philippines!
The Biri Rocks of Northern Samar were formally declared and recognized as the country’s 7th National Geological Monument last June 2025. The bid of Northern Samar to become the country’s next UNESCO Global Geopark was also launched at the same time. This exhibit was made possible in partnership with the Provincial Government of Northern Samar, National Committee on Geological Sciences, National Institute of Geological Sciences, and the Nannoworks Laboratory.
