This kit aims to educate young minds on how to accurately describe, classify, and even name common rocks, by providing real hand samples they could see, smell, and touch. With this experience, they would be able to really compare, analyze, and remember notable differences and characteristics of common rocks found on the Earth’s surface. This will be far more effective than just reading about them in their textbooks or on the internet. This guide aims to increase their interest on how these rocks were formed. Hopefully, it will also pave the way to a greater interest in geology/earth science as well.
The laboratory sells rock kits comprising of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. All proceeds from the sales of rock kits go to the Geoscience Foundation, Inc. which supports the academic and research activities of the National Institute of Geological Sciences, University of the Philippines, Diliman.
