Sedimentology Laboratory is a standard laboratory located at the ground floor, Rm. 002 of the National Institute of Geological Sciences, Diliman, Quezon City. This laboratory performs sedimentological analysis such as morphometric analysis of gravels, sieve analysis (wet or dry sieving) of sand or mud samples for the size distribution of the sediment and coring of sediment cores to determine if there are changes in sediment record in the study area. In addition, this laboratory is also equipped with a mechanical siever, a refrigerator and sieves with different mesh sizes: 4mm, 2mm, 1mm, 500um, 250um, 125um, 62.5um.
This laboratory also serves as a classroom for field geology and sedimentology petrology of undergraduate and graduate students. It also serves as a repository of different rock/sand samples located from different study areas.
