Paleontology Lab

The Paleontology Laboratory houses a diverse collection of invertebrate and vertebrate fossils located at Room 210 of the National Institute of Geological Sciences. This room also serves as the classroom for paleontology laboratory classes of geology undergraduates. The laboratory offers a great opportunity to study invertebrate fossils from almost all invertebrate phyla, especially fossil brachiopods, molluscs and arthropods. Fossils from different areas of the Philippines are also housed within the Paleontology Laboratory, obtained from field excursions headed by the lab. It is planned that the lab will be the location of a Philippine fossil repository that will showcase a variety of Cenozoic and Mesozoic fossils found in the country. It is not open to public tour.
