Study Sites of the Laboratory

The Nannoworks Laboratory is dedicated to research on various microfossils, mostly calcareous such as nannofossils and foraminifera, and their use on paleontology, paleoceanography, and biostratigraphy.

Fossils of the Philippines

The Philippines is composed of nine sedimentary basins namely; Ilocos–Central Luzon Basin, Cagayan Valley Basin, Southern Luzon–Bicol Basin, Mindoro Basin, Iloilo Basin, Visayan Sea Basin, Samar Basin, Agusan–Davao Basin, and Cotabato Basin. Numerous paleontologic and biostratigraphic studies have been conducted on these basins. This interactive map helps visualize the location of fossils used to determine the ages of sedimentary formations. Brief introduction can be accessed by clicking each icon on the map.
