Three (3) Nannoworks Graduate Students defended their thesis proposals as part of the NIGS Thesis Proposal Colloquium for the 1st Semester, AY 2025-2026, last Nov. 25, 2025.
Ms. Kirsty Mary D. Camba presented her thesis proposal on Late Pliocene to Pleistocene Calcareous Nannofossil Biostratigraphy and Paleoproductivity Reconstruction of IODP 363 Site U1487 (Manus Basin, West Pacific Ocean). Her thesis adviser is Dr. Allan Gil S. Fernando.
Mr. Toby L. Vergara, a University Research Associate I at the UP National Institute of Geological Sciences, presented his thesis proposal on the Pliocene Ostracoda of the Ilocos-Central Luzon Basin, Philippines. His thesis advisers are Dr. Allan Gil S. Fernando and Dr. Moriaki Yasuhara.
Mr. Miguel Joven E. Villanueva, a University Research Associate I at the UP National Institute of Geological Sciences, presented his thesis proposal on the Morphological and Phylogenetic Analysis of Pleistocene Bovid Fossils from La Union, Luzon: Implications for Terrestrial Biodiversity in the Philippines. His thesis advisers are Dr. Allan Gil S. Fernando and Dr. Janine P. Ochoa.
