The Nannoworks Laboratory congratulates John Paul M. Mondala, member of the lab and BS Geology graduate of the National Institute of Geological Sciences, for being accepted into the University of Toyama’s MS Geology Program.
John Paul’s specialization is on fossil gastropods. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Geology degree at the National Institute of Geological Sciences, with his undergraduate thesis titled “Sedimentological and Molluscan Fossil Assemblage Analysis of an Uplifted Marine Terrace in Damortis, Santo Tomas, La Union”. He is now researching the Cretaceous gastropods of the Nerineoidea superfamily from Biri, Northern Samar, for his master’s degree. He is studying at the University of Toyama, under the tutelage of Dr. Shin-Ichi Sano and with financial support from the MEXT Scholarship by the Japanese government.
