Geologists’ Day started in the Soviet Union in 1966 as a professional holiday for geologists, geochemists, and geophysicists. It’s traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday of April to mark the end of winter and the start of preparations for summer fieldworks. The pandemic may have brought a halt to our geological expeditions and our gatherings, but our science continues to develop. Until we all meet again in the field, from all of us at the Nannoworks Laboratory, stay safe and a very happy Geologists’ Day to our friends and colleagues!
