A Geology 215 (Advanced Field Geology) class fieldwork was successfully conducted in western Pangasinan, particularly in the city of Alaminos and municipalities of Agno, Bani, Burgos, Dasol, Mabini, and Sual. The fourteen-day fieldwork was conducted on October 22-28, 2023 and January 10-16, 2024. Essentially, this fieldwork aims to train graduate students on detailed geological mapping involving detailed outcrop observation, stratigraphic logging, and rock sampling for different analyses such as petrographic, paleontological and microfacies analysis.
This fieldwork was initiated by professors Dr. Alyssa M. Peleo-Alampay, Dr. Allan Gil S. Fernando, and Dr. Leopoldo P. De Silva Jr. and involved thirteen graduate students from various laboratories in the institute.
