The NIGS-UPGAA Geology Museum is proud to announce its latest special exhibit for 2026, “Ang Mga Nahukay sa Batabungkay”, which features the fossils that have been discovered and documented from Talim Point, Matabungkay, Lian, Batangas!
The fossil site preserves a rich assemblage of shallow sea organisms such as corals, mollusks, echinoids, and foraminifera. The site is also known for its 𝘕𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘶𝘴 fossils, which are considered to be the oldest in the Philippines!
This exhibit was made possible in partnership with the National Institute of Geological Sciences, the Nannoworks Laboratory, and the Paleontological Society of the Philippines.
The “𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘕𝘢𝘩𝘶𝘬𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘺” exhibit opens on 6 July 2026 and will run until 30 September 2026.
