Nanno Undergrad Training at Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan

On November 13-18, 2024, Dr. Allan Gil S. Fernando along with two 4th year BS Geology students from NIGS (Audric Brian R. Gardoña and Justyn Jay D. Magtanong) visited Dr. Chien-Hsiang Lin and Mr. Dominique P. Mediodia at the Marine Paleontology Laboratory, Biodiversity Research Center, Academia Sinica. During the visit, future research collaborations and future research activities with the members of the laboratory (e.g., fieldworks, conferences) were discussed. The two students were also trained on shark teeth fossil identification and analysis for their Undergraduate Thesis (Geology 200). The visit was an opportunity to strengthen our collaboration with Academia Sinica which has already resulted to several publications and presentations in both national and international conferences. This visit was also an opportunity to meet other potential collaborators who can help improve the paleontology program of our Institute.
