Three (3) Nannoworks Graduate Students defended their thesis proposals as part of the NIGS Thesis Proposal Colloquium for the 1st Semester, AY 2024-2025 last Nov. 27, 2024.
Mr. Jester Cleope presented his thesis proposal on the Calcareous Nannofossil Biostratigraphy and Osmium Isotope Record of the Berriasian to Hauterivian Section in the Umbria-Marche Basin, Italy. His thesis adviser is Dr. Allan Gil S. Fernando.
Ms. Christine Blessa Jabien, a research assistant at the UP Marine Science Institute, presented her thesis proposal on Sedimentological Controls on Methane Hydrate Formation in the Krishna-Godavari Basin, India. Her thesis advisers are Dr. Alyssa M. Peleo-Alampay and Dr. Maria Luisa Tejada (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology).
Ms. Jaira Tavera, presented her thesis proposal on the Pliocene to Pleistocene Calcareous Nannofossil Biostratigraphy and Paleoceanography of Site U1489, IODP Expedition 363, Western Pacific Warm Pool. Her thesis adviser is Dr. Alyssa M. Peleo-Alampay.
